Dollie Radford was a central participant in the vibrant literary, social, and political life of fin de siècle London. Although Radford's name is little known today, her circle included some of the most-celebrated names in turn-of-the-century literature and politics: William Morris, George Bernard Shaw, H. G. Wells, William Butler Yeats, H.D. (Hilda Doolittle), Olive Schreiner, Eleanor Marx and Edward Aveling, Constance and Edward Garnett, Ernest Rhys, Augustine Birrell, Laurence Houseman, John Galsworthy, and D. H. Lawrence. A poet who published books for both adults and children, Radford also has a novel, a verse drama, and several short stories to her credit. Individual poems and stories were published in respected journals, including The Yellow Book, The Athenaeum, The Nation, The English Review, and McClure's.
