Sports Stars on Colorado Silver Bullets

In 1954 major league commissioner Ford Frick issued an order that banned women from playing in organized professional baseball. The decision crushed the dreams of many young girls. Forty years later, the dreams of another generation have now come true. The National Association of Baseball Leagues, the governing body of professional baseball, recognized the Colorado Silver Bullets as an all-woman baseball team. In 1994 the team took on all-male teams from around the country. The Silver Bullets have shown that they can play exciting baseball and that someday women might find a place in major leagues.
