Quarterback Brett Favre of the Green Bay Packers has worked hard to earn respect. After high school, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi because national college football powerhouses did not think he was good enough to play for them. Then, after leading the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles to upset wins over Florida State and Alabama, Favre again had to prove he could play, this time in the National Football League (NFL). There is no doubt now that the Packer signal-caller is one of the best of all-time after having won three consecutive NFL Most Valuable Player awards (1995, 1996, and 1997) and leading Green Bay to a Super Bowl championship.
