His television ads for Nike sportswear and Cannon cameras have been very successful and fans love his style, both on and off the court. For many years Agassi was unable to win one of the most important events in tennis, the Grand Slam tournaments--the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open. Experts claimed that unless Agassi won one of these tournaments he didn't deserve his fame. But he silenced his critics in 1992 by winning Wimbledon--the most important tournament in the world.
