A. C. Crispin is the author of a number of science fiction novels, including several additions to prominent series such as "V" and "Star Trek." Crispin also created her own series in 1989, "StarBridge," which "centers around a school for young diplomats, translators, and explorers, both alien and human, located on an asteroid far from Earth," according to the author. As Crispin once explained, "In my science fiction I enjoy the theme of 'first contact' between humans and aliens. Communication is vital in this universe. In one way or another, all my books are about communication."
Crispin's first book, Yesterday's Son, features characters from the original Star Trek television series. In this story, Mr. Spock learns that he has a son and then embarks on a mission to save him.
