Words in Deep Blue Overview

She alternates between two first-person points of view, conveying the thoughts, feelings, and actions of both Rachel and Henry as they fall in love. While Rachel is grieving the death of her younger brother, Henry is struggling to deal with a breakup and the potential sale of his family bookshop. The story is set in the Australian city of Gracetown. In this text, Crowley touches on themes of love, human connections, the balance between thoughts and feelings, death, and the new beginnings in endings.
