When Stars Are Scattered Overview

Victoria Jamieson and Omar Mohamed’s young adult graphic memoir tells the true story of Omar and Hassan Mohamed, two young brothers growing up in a refugee camp called Dadaab in Kenya. The memoir, told from Omar’s perspective, follows the pre-teen brothers through their later adolescence as they try to figure out their future after fleeing war-torn Somalia. While caring for his disabled brother Hassan, Omar starts going to school, wondering what fate has in store for him.
