Mezieres' and Christin's Valerian and Laureline: Welcome to Alflolol is one of a series of graphic novels about the travels of two heroes, Valerian and Laureline. In this adventure, Valerian and Laureline become involved when the natives of Alflolol return to their home planet only to discover the planet has become an unwelcoming, industrial center. The story encompasses the conflict between two cultures that embrace different values and the changing relationship between Laureline and Valerian.
