Unsettled Ground Overview
In Claire Fuller's third person novel Unsettled Ground, 51-year-old twins Jeanie and Julius are thrust into a state of uncertainty in the wake of their mother Dot's death. Having lived in the same cottage where they were born for the entirety of their lives, Jeanie and Julius are unfamiliar with change. Dot's passing, however, is not the only emotional conflict the twins encounter. When an accumulating number of revelations about their mother's secret life suddenly surface, the twins must decide who and what is most important to each of them. The novel explores themes including, loss, loneliness, and attachment.
