Everything you need to understand or teach Two-Headed Calf.
"The Two-Headed Calf" is a free verse poem by American poet, nurse, and hospital reform advocate Laura Gilpin. Originally published in her 1977 collection The Hocus-Pocus of the Universe, "The Two-Headed Calf" deals with nature, empathy, and wonder. In the poem, a baby bovine born with two heads is marked as a freak of nature and destined to be gawked at. But for one quiet night, the calf enjoys gazing at the stars, of which he sees twice the usual amount.
