This book is a memoir of the author’s experiences living with, and learning from, transgender youth. Both biographical and autobiographical in nature, the book describes the lives and circumstances of a number of such youth, as well as the author’s own journey of transformation as she comes to understand more about those circumstances and her reactions to them. While primarily concerned with different aspects of the experience of living as transgender, the book also explores issues related to the awakening to the self, developing trust, and mother/daughter relationships.
