Tin Man is a novel by Sarah Winman. The story focuses on the life of Ellis Judd, a depressed, middle-aged man in Oxford, England. Ellis moves depressively through his life in the five years after his his wife Annie died in a car accident. Ellis begins to experience happiness once he decides to quit his job working overnight in a car mechanic shop. However, he realizes he has not fully grieved his past when he discovers a journal belonging to his former lover and also-deceased friend, Michael. This novel explores the themes of grief, sexuality, and art.
