Things We Hide From the Light is a contemporary romance novel written by Lucy Score. It is the second in a three book series written about the residents of the small town of Knockemout. It was published in 2023. It is told through the alternating first-person perspectives of the protagonists, Lina Solavita and Nash Morgan. The book centers around the developing relationship between these two characters. Central conflicts include Nash’s difficulty coming to terms with being shot and overcoming panic as well as Lina’s reticence to be emotionally vulnerable with anybody. The two protagonists work together with other primary characters to bring down the people responsible for Nash’s shooting. Key themes include the harm of keeping things from the light, the idea that vulnerability requires strength, the manner in which caretaking can demonstrate love, the necessity of quality police work, and the extent to which DNA does or does not control a person.
