The Sun and Her Flowers Overview
The Sun and her Flowers is a collection of poetry by Rupi Kaur, in which Kaur explores her personal past and encourages her readers to do the same. Kaur's confessional poetry is broken up into five sections -- wilting, falling, rooting, rising, and blooming -- all of which trace Kaur's progress from a place of self-doubt and hatred to a place of self-love and acceptance. Throughout this collection, Kaur contemplates the human condition, feminism, political inequality, and society's idea of happiness. Her poems explore themes of self-love, cycles of healing, female empowerment, immigration, and physical intimacy.
