The Storyteller’s Secret is a novel by Sejal Badani. Taking place in British-occupied India and present-day New York City and India, the novel tells the story of an Indian woman named Amisha and her granddaughter Jaya. Jaya travels to India to learn about her creatively oppressed grandmother in order to heal her own personal trauma. The novel examines themes of destiny, independence, and storytelling as salvation.
