The book's author, Jill Lepore, provides an in-depth account of Marston's life, including his unorthodox lifestyle of living with two, sometimes three, wives, and how his academic and professional pursuits created a perfect storm for him to eventually create Wonder Woman, whose stories featured versions of people from Marston's life as well as his liberal, feminist politics.
