The Scorch Trials is a dystopian young adult novel by James Dashner, and is the second installment in his Maze Runner series. The Scorch Trials deals with the continued efforts of Thomas, Teresa, Minho, Newt, and the other Gladers to survive the challenges put in their way by WICKED. WICKED will put Thomas and Teresa to the test, taking them to their very limits, in order to seek a cure for the Flare disease. Themes of friendship, betrayal, and dystopia are explored in the popular novel and series.
