The Other Woman: A Novel Overview
The Other Woman, a spy thriller by veteran author Daniel Silva, continues the adventures of veteran Israeli spymaster Gabriel Allon. A gritty, realistic tale of espionage and deceit, it centers around the long standing conflict between Russia and the West from the Cold War onward. The novel takes place largely in the present with brief interludes to the past, and the reader follows the main characters as they travel the world in search of answers. Told mainly from the point of view of Gabriel, but with occasional chapters devoted to exposition or secondary characters, the novel deals with themes such as the relationship between past and present, the nature of allegiance and betrayal, and the complex inner workings of modern espionage.
