The young adult novel, The Other Side of Truth, written by Beverley Naidoo follows Sade and her younger brother Femi Solaja as they are smuggled out of Nigeria in the wake of their mother's murder. They arrive in London where their uncle fails to meet them at the airport and they grow ever more fearful of their new and unfamiliar surroundings and of what may have happened to their outspoken journalist father back in Nigeria. They mature and grow, moving to an ultimate family reunion after testing their sibling bonds, commitment to their culture, and the strength of the human spirit.
