In The Office of Historical Corrections, Evans explores themes of racial identity, intergenerational trauma, and loss through six short stories and one novella. These narratives are literary fiction largely focused on the lives of women, often Black American women, and those with whom they come into contact. Evans’ stories take place across a variety of settings that reflect the commercial and ephemeral nature of modern life, including tourist destinations, hotels, and public transportation.
