The Monsters of Templeton Overview
The Monsters of Templeton is a novel by Lauren Groff. The story follows Wilhelmina “Willie” Upton, a 28-year-old graduate student who is visiting her hometown of Templeton, New York. After a shocking revelation from her mother, Willie begins a research project to try to discover the identity of her father. During the course of this research, she makes many fascinating discoveries about Templeton and its history. Meanwhile, Willie must also strive to resolve several mounting personal problems that have recently developed in her life. The novel explores themes of history, morality, identity, family, and adversity.
