The Mirror Season is a novel by Anna-Marie McLemore. Graciela is a high-school student who is the victim of sexual assault at a summer party. A mysterious boy, Lock, is also assaulted that same night and Graciela brings him to the hospital, believing she will never see him again. When he joins her class in the fall, she realizes that learning what happened to him is the key to uncovering her own story and beginning to heal. As they grow closer and more courageous, Graciela learns to use her voice and speak up about what happened that fateful night. The novel explores themes of grief, self-love, guilt and regret, masculinity, and diversity.
