The Lucky Ones Overview
The Lucky Ones is a collection of short stories by Julianne Pachico, all of which explore how the decades-long Colombian conflict affected and continues to affect Colombian citizens. Pachico's stories center around an imagined group of schoolgirls, dramatizing how the girls' unique and disparate situations all contain some strand of their past in Colombia. The stories share various thematic and narrative connections, demonstrating how the lives of individuals can deeply affect the lives of others.
