Everything you need to understand or teach The Love of Singular Men by Victor Heringer.
The Love of Singular Men takes place in Queím, a suburb of Rio de Janiero, Brazil, during two distinct periods in the life of a man named Camilo: one in 1976, when Camilo is still a young boy, and the other in the 2010s, when Camilo is growing into old age. The two timelines are focused, respectively, on Camilo's first romantic relationship with a boy named Cosme and on the thornily paternal relationship that Camilo develops with a young boy named Renato, who is the grandson of Cosme's killer. As the novel plumbs the depths of Camilo's psyche, it explores themes of queerness, masculinity, political oppression, class, and disability.
