The Looking Glass Wars Overview
The Looking Glass Wars is a young adult novel by Frank Beddor. Alyss, heir to Wonderland’s throne, is forced to flee when her aunt overthrows the castle guards and kills her parents. Alyss escapes through the imagination portal and finds herself in nineteenth century England and she is called Alice. There, Alice constantly tries to convince people of Wonderland’s existence, until one day she experiences the ultimate betrayal and vows to leave it all behind her. The novel explores themes of violence, coming of age, anger, revenge, adaptation, loyalty and perseverance.
