In Yohanca Delgado's short story "The Little Widow from the Capital," when a young widow from Santo Domingo moves into a New York apartment building, her neighbors immediately judge and ridicule her. After the widow's new lover breaks her heart, however, the neighbors begin to feel guilty for how they have treated the widow.
