Everything you need to understand or teach The High House by Jessie Greengrass.
In Jessie Greengrass's novel The High House, Sally, Caro, and Pauly are forced into isolation in a large house on the outskirts of the village when a flood threatens to destroy their region. Although Sally, Caro, and Pauly do not always get along and have lost so much already, over the course of their time together at the high house, they are forced to lean on one another for survival. Written from the three main characters' first person points of view, the novel explores themes including survival, fear, and memory.
