The Great Reclamation Overview

The Great Reclamation is a 2003 novel by Rachel Heng. It is set on the coast of Singapore in the years before, during, and after World War II. The novel follows protagonist Ah Boon as he navigates life in a changing culture and is forced to make choices about whether he wants to retain traditions and customs or whether he wants to help Singapore move into the future.
