The Good Sister Overview
Sally Heworth's novel, The Good Sister, follows Fern Castle as she goes about her life as a librarian in Australia. Fern's twin, Rose, writes regularly in a journal where she recounts events from the sisters' childhood. Fern is autistic and believes that Rose is always looking out for her. It would seem so, until Rose is uncovered as a narcissist who lies and manipulates others into doing what she wants. The novel's main themes include preying on vulnerabilities, having a purpose in life, and the effects of false memories.
