The Gloaming Overview
Melanie Finn's contemporary novel, The Gloaming, is a fictional narrative that follows a protagonist with a spotted past. The majority of the novel is told from Pilgrim Jones's point of view, and it chronicles both her tumultuous past after killing three children in a car accident and her uncertain future traveling around Tanzania. She meets several colorful people along her journey, but not all of them are there to help her. This book touches upon the ideas of destiny and questions whether or not a person can outrun punishments for crimes done in the past.
