“The Garden By Moonlight” is a single-stanza imagist poem by American poet Amy Lowell. It describes, in great detail, an idyllic garden setting at night in which the speaker meets their lover (perhaps in secret). The poem first appeared in Lowell’s second collection, Sword Blades and Poppy Seed, in 1914, and displays the essential criteria of Lowell’s imagist movement.
