The Forgotten Girls Overview
The Forgotten Girls is a modern Danish detective novel written by Sara Blaedel. Detective Louise Rick's first case as the leader of a new missing persons unit involves an unidentified woman who was found near rural Avnsø Lake. The case grows increasingly mysterious when, after the woman is identified, she is discovered to have a death certificate listed in her name from 30 years earlier. Louise's case begins to focus on Eliselund, an old institution for the mentally disabled, where the woman had been living at the time of her death certificate. This novel covers the themes of ethics, grudges, and work-life balance.
