The End of Eddy Overview
In the autobiographical novel, The End of Eddy, author Édouard Louis explores the experience of growing up gay in a rural, poor village in northern France. The main protagonist, Eddy, fights against his feelings for men in hopes of being better accepted among his community, which prizes masculine “tough guys.” The novel explores themes of class, racism, sexuality, masculinity and femininity.
