The End We Start From is a dystopian novel set in the United Kingdom about the aftermath of a severe natural disaster that forces the evacuation of London due to a catastrophic flood. The story is told from the perspective of a woman who has just given birth to her first child with events following the natural disaster corresponding to milestones in the first year of the baby’s life. It deals with themes of motherhood, female friendship, and beginnings and endings.
