The Disordered Cosmos Overview
Chandra Prescod-Weinstein wrote The Disordered Cosmos: a Journey into Dark Matter, Spacetime, and Dreams Deferred to explain to people what kind of physicist she is. By weaving parts of her personal narrative alongside the science, she answers the question in both senses. She is a cosmologist: both a particle physicist who studies the tiniest particles that make up everything in the universe and an astrophysicist who studies the full scope of space and time. She is also a black, agender physicist who grew up in East L.A. and went to college on work-study who wants there to be more space for people like her in physics to actually work on physics, and not on getting more people like them into physics.
