Jeff Kinney's graphic novel, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Deep End, picks up in Greg's life as he and his family figure out how to have fun on a limited budget while their new house is being built. They have been staying in Gramma's basement when they decide to hit the road in a motor home. Their challenges include a nosy bear and a smelly skunk. Greg discovers that they carry their sewage with them when they travel. They believe the answers to their dreams are at Campers' Eden campground, but there are just new challenges to face. The novel's main themes are the roles of family members and expectations versus reality.
