Everything you need to understand or teach The Complaint of Rosamond by Samuel Daniel.
"The Complaint of Rosamund" is a long poem by the Elizabethan poet Samuel Daniel. The poem had multiple editions in Daniel's lifetime, though it has been little studied in subsequent centuries. The first edition appeared in 1592, in a folio along with his sonnet cycle addressed to Delia. The poem is usually understood to be a retelling of the life and death of Rosamund Clifford, a medieval noblewoman who became the mistress of King Henry II and whose beauty and tragic death made her a figure of English folklore.
