The Choice Overview
The Choice, by Dr. Edith Eva Eger, is the author’s memoir of being imprisoned in the Auschwitz death camp during World War II, and of her learning to live with the trauma associated with that experience. As the narrative details the horrors of her time in the camp and the fulfillment she found in her subsequent life, it develops themes relating to the power of choice, the importance of connection to others, and the relationship between past, present, and future.
