The Child Finder Overview
Rene Defeld's novel, The Child Finder, is the story of Naomi Cottle, a young private investigator who specializes in finding missing children. Naomi is searching for a young girl who has been missing in a remote area of rural Oregon for about three years. She is also investigating what happened to a baby who was lost by her autistic mother. Ironically, the investigations lead Naomi on a path of self-discovery as she grapples with the truth about her own abduction as a child. The novel's main themes are coming of age, good versus evil, and coping with tragedy.
