The Boy on the Wooden Box is Leon Leyson's memoir. Leon was born in Poland. After having a relatively normal early childhood during the 1930s, he then experienced the Holocaust and the loss of some of his family members, including his grandparents and two of his brothers. He, his father, his mother, his brother David, and his sister Pesza, however, survived because they worked in Oskar Schindler's factory. The Boy on the Wooden Box describes Leon's experiences and explains how he survived.
