“Thank You For Waiting” is a 53-line free-verse poem by British poet Simon Armitage. It first appeared in his 2017 collection The Unaccompanied. The poem describes the boarding process of an airline waiting room, and quickly descends into the absurd to explore themes of capitalism and class divides.
