“Sylvia’s Death” is a euologistic poem written in 1963 by American poet Anne Sexton. It originally appeared in Sexton’s short memoir The Barfly Ought to Sing, and later appeared in a 1964 issue of Poetry magazine as well as Sexton’s full-length poetry collection Live or Die. The poem explores Sexton’s complex feelings towards the suicide of her friend and colleague, Sylvia Plath.
