Swimming Back to Trout River Overview
In Linda Rui Feng's third person novel Swimming Back to Trout River, after Momo moves to America to create a new life for his family, his wife Cassia and daughter Junie become reluctant to join him. Cassia suddenly realizes she wants to start her life over entirely. Junie realizes she is still connected to the place her father was raised. Over the course of the novel, the family must learn what it means to balance their individual hurts with their desire for closeness. The novel explores themes including, agency, fate, and rebirth.
