Louise Penny’s murder mystery novel, Still Life, follows Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as he attempts to solve the murder of 76-year-old Jane Neal. The investigation takes place in Three Pines, a small country town a few hours from Montreal where Jane had lived her whole life and where her body was found. During his investigation, Gamache becomes acquainted with the townspeople and realizes there is more to this town than meets the eye. Penny explores themes of hidden identity, personal growth and change, choice and perception, life and death and relationships.
