Sigh, Gone is a memoir about Phuc Tran’s early life as a Vietnamese American from an immigrant family growing up in a small, primarily white Pennsylvanian town. Phuc copes with cultural assimilation, racism, abuse, and socioeconomic struggles at school and at home. Covering his early childhood through his high school years, the book explores themes of fitting in, growing up, rebellion, racial prejudice, and the American Dream.
