Saving CeeCee Honeycutt Overview
Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman is a story about a young girl named Cecelia who begins her life in Willoughby, Ohio with her mother Camille and her father Carl. Cecelia's father is a travelling salesman who spends most of his time on the road, and as such, Cecelia is raised mostly by her mother. Unfortunately, her mother develops signs of psychosis when Cecelia is just seven years old, and Cecelia is forced to behave as an adult long before her time.
When her mother gets worse, Cecelia becomes resentful and wishes she'd just go away. As fate would have it, she does. Camille is hit by an ice cream truck and killed during one episode of psychosis and Cecelia is taken to Georgia to live with her great aunt Tallulah Caldwell. What seems frightening and lonely at first turns into a new life for Cecelia that she is grateful for, filled with love and family and friends.
The story begins with illness, grief, and loss, but soon becomes on of family and love as CeeCee Honeycutt is saved.
