Run Away Overview
Harlan Corben's Run Away is the story of Simon Greene, a man who will go to any lengths to save Paige, his daughter, from a world of drugs and violence. On his journey to save Paige, Simon discovers that a cult is systematically killing off the sons who threaten the passage of leadership. A more personal discovery is that his wife Ingrid had given birth to an illegitimate son (Aaron) years ago. Now, Aaron is playing a role in Paige's addiction. Though Simon does not believe in secrets, he realizes after Aaron's untimely death that one secret must be kept. The novel's main themes are the importance of family, the role of cults, and the predisposed nature of a child versus the nurturing of parents.
