Restart is a middle-grade novel by Gordon Korman. The story follows Chase Ambrose, a bully who falls off of his roof and loses his memory. He starts eighth grade with no idea who he is or why everyone at school is terrified of him. When he joins the video club, which is full of kids he used to bully, he feels as if he has found a place where he belongs. However, when his old football friends demand his loyalty, he must decide whether he wants to embrace his old life or abandon it for his new friends. The novel explores themes of identity, friendship, bullying, toxic masculinity, and redemption.
