Red, White, and Whole is a middle school novel in verse by Rajani LaRocca's. As a novel in verse, the narrative employs poems, instead of prose. The story's main character is Reha, a girl who feels torn between being an American by birth and being immersed in the Indian culture of her parents. Reha, as a young teen, also feels her relationship with her mother is a constant struggle. It is only after her mother dies that Reha learns her mother knew about Reha's conflicts. The main themes are dreams, feelings of division, culture, relationships, and the effects of death.
