Reality Hunger Overview
Reality Hunger by David Shields is subtitled "A Manifesto.” Over the course of 26 chapters and more than 600 numbered comments, the author creates a collage of ideas, commentary, and argument in favor of a new, reality-based process for the creation and reception of art, and particularly of writing. Throughout the work, the text also develops themes relating to the power and value of memoir, the importance of freedom in the sharing of ideas, and the importance of change and evolution in art.
